These are some simple tips to improve the amount of visitors you get from StumbleUpon:
StumbleUpon Toolbar
It helps to have the
StumbleUpon toolbar for all this
Remind People of the Thumbs Up
By reminding people about the
Thumbs Up button, they will be more likely to click it.
Example:
ravora.com/artstumble/4/zeep/
This really helps improve the amount of visitors you get. The more people who
Thumbs Up your page, the more visitors you'll get.
Image Size
If your page has an image, it's good to make it less than 715 pixes wide. This way Stumblers can right-click the image and pick '
StumbleUpon PhotoBlog It!' to have it added to their Stumble blog.
You can see my Stumble blog at:
dave-dayon.stumbleupon.com
Me and many others like to use the
PhotoBlog It button.
Don't Go Adult
StumbleUpon gives you the option to view R rated and X rated sites. If you pick these options, StumbleUpon will trust you less and sites you submit will not be seen by as many Stumblers.
More Content, Less Brand
Having a clean site design makes people feel more like they are giving the
Thumbs Up to the content, and less to your site.
If this is the first time they have seen your site they may not trust you and as such not feel like vouching for you with a
Thumbs Up.
Where Next
Now the Stumbler has seen your page, give them 1 or 2 links to other content on your site (or maybe offer your RSS feed).
Too many options can cause people not to pick any link and just click '
Stumble!' again.
I hope my tips help you get more Stumblers
